According to ESPN, Emery drowned while swimming in Lake Ontario. The Hamilton Police Department claim that Emery was reported missing around 6 AM on Sunday in Hamilton Harbour. The harbor is south-west of Toronto, on the westernmost section of Lake Ontario. His body was found close to where he was last spotted swimming. The last time Emery played in the NHL was in the 2014-15 season for the Flyers.
